For veterinarians

Are you a veterinarian, not an employer?

This site is for practices that are hiring. If you are a veterinarian considering your next role, send your resume to Business Executive Group and a recruiter will review it against current and upcoming searches.

Submit your resume

Sending a resume is not an application to a named job and does not create an employment relationship. BEGHR shares your details with an employer only after you agree to it.

How BEGHR works with regional veterinary directors

Business Executive Group is engaged and paid by employers. That is worth knowing up front, because it shapes what a recruiter can and cannot do for you.

  • Your details are held until a search matches them, not only while a role is open.
  • BEGHR asks you before sending your resume to a named employer.
  • The employer interviews and makes the hiring decision, not BEGHR.

What to send

A recruiter can only act on what you actually tell them. Give enough that a role can be matched to you without a second round of questions.

  • Your resume, the role you want and the geography you would work in.
  • The states you hold a license in, and your availability.
  • Anything that rules a role out, such as no overnights or no relocation.

Working in the Baltimore area

Name the street address, municipality and county, and keep Baltimore City neighborhoods separate from Baltimore County places. Baltimore County has no incorporated municipalities in the Census Bureau’s place-by-county file, so Towson, Pikesville, Owings Mills, Cockeysville, Catonsville, Essex and Dundalk are census designated places. Annapolis, Bel Air, Havre de Grace and Westminster are incorporated, while Columbia, Ellicott City, Elkridge, Glen Burnie, Odenton and Eldersburg are census designated places. A mailing name can differ from the Census place: the Census geocoder puts an Annapolis address on Bestgate Road in Parole, an Elkridge address on Marie Curie Drive in Columbia and a Bel Air address on Baltimore Pike in Bel Air North. Coverage on this site is limited to Maryland; a hospital in another state falls under a different licensing authority.

Plan Maryland credential checks before the start date.

Maryland licenses veterinarians through the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners within the Maryland Department of Agriculture, and registered veterinary technicians are registered through the same Board. Assign a person to verify license status and the expiration date, record the verification date and resolve questions with the Board. Check any additional specialty credentials required by the employer with the issuing organization.

Candidate questions

Are there open roles listed on this page?

No. This page is not a job listing and carries no vacancy. The searches Business Executive Group is engaged on change, and employers are confidential until they authorize being named. Send your resume and a recruiter will tell you what is actually open that fits you.

Does BEGHR have an office in Baltimore?

No. Business Executive Group is headquartered in Dallas-Fort Worth and recruits nationally. This website describes the Baltimore market BEGHR recruits into, not a local office.

Who pays BEGHR?

The employer does. That is worth knowing as a candidate: BEGHR is engaged and paid by the practices it recruits for, and the employer makes the hiring decision.

What happens to my resume?

It is held on a BEGHR candidate record so recruiters can contact you about matching roles. BEGHR asks you before sending it to any named employer. The record is kept for 24 months from your last contact, and you can ask to see, correct or delete it at any time by emailing sales@beghr.com.
